The Season for Thrifting!

“I shop at thrift shops probably five times a week.”

-Macklemore

Now, I don’t thrift shop five times a week but I do thrift shop pretty often. I’m always being asked “Where did you get your clothes?” or I’m told that “You must be rich because you have a lot of clothes!” I’m not rich by any means and 55% of my clothing comes from THRIFTING! Good fashion can come from others. It’s actually very beautiful to take someone else’s things and make into something completely different. Sort of like musical artists sampling another song. Recreating energy in a sense. Thrifting does that for style and fashion.

Since it’s the beginning of the new year, I know that money is a little tight after all that gift giving. You still have that itch to shop but don’t want to spend a lot of money. NOW is the season for thrifting! The idea of this post was given to me by my best friend Stephanye who noticed that right after the holidays is the best time to go and find grand items in thrift stores! AND SHE IS COMPLETELY RIGHT! You can discover so many great finds after the holidays because they’re so many people donating or giving away to thrift stores. Here are a few finds that I had the pleasure of coming across in my favorite thrift store in Charlotte, N.C.: Buffalo Exchange.

Here are some looks and tips on how to shop at a thrift store!

the Urbnlook: When it comes to discovering great finds at a thrift store the key is patience. Stay patient and I promise you’ll find something that will catch your style’s eye.

theUrbnlook: While your thrifting, think about what’s already in your closet and focus on how you can use your finds as an upgrade. It’ll make it seem like the items you do find are already apart of your wardrobe.

BUUUTTTT… that’s not all I discovered! Right as I was checking out from Buffalo Exchange I meet a fellow blogger: Malaika Denise ! She’s fantastic! She understands that simplicity is beautiful and she’s a lover of minimal aesthetics! Check out her dope blog which you can find by clicking her name above! Thanks for letting me feature you love!

Final Word:

Thrifting is exciting & fun! You can never go wrong with the prices! This is the perfect time to go out and head to your local goodwills and salviation armies! The season of thrifting is here and you don’t want to miss it. So go out and find some treasures to add to your wardrobe. As always be that trendsetter that I know you can be!

Here in England we don’t have ‘Thrifting stores’ we just have Charity Stores which I recommend avoiding at all costs!

I would definitely like that…. I invite you to call me at 704-268-9788 or by way of email at 704Plan@gmail.com – I invite you to come to my photo shoot today at The Empowerment Center on North Tryon. My photo shoot is scheduled for 10am and I think it would be a great idea. We could use some of the photos in an upcoming article based on myself and the 7-0-4 Plan.
